Just started the process of buying a watch for myself... So far this is the nicest Cartier that is in my price range (5K). Anyone see anything nicer?

I want to buy a rolex and Am looking to spend around 5000$.
Anything you can recommend for this prize range or is this too little?
Also if not rolex what would you buy for around 2000-5000$, im a 19 yo and dont dress/look that flashy so the watch should fit in.
Also will ppl be able to tell it's real?

2 types of people can tell real watches from fakes at a glance.

- Watchmakers
- Replica enthusiasts

I'd get a IWC Portuguese Chrono.

i was looking on ebay and i found these watches, they used to be pretty expensive but they are now available for around 200 $ (i always lose my watches after a few months when i get drunk or whatever so 200 $ is definately the maximum i am spending )

can you see if these watches are junk or pretty good value ?

http://www.amazon.com/Daniel-Steiger-Pre...1&sr=1-2094

http://www.amazon.com/Klaus-Kobec-Elite-...895&sr=1-57

and what doyou think of this one, i owned this one but lost it when i was drunk (ill buy the rolex daddy when i reach 30) i really liked this watch...
http://www.amazon.com/Invicta-Diver-Coll...5792&sr=1-6

and since i am young i think it is better to have more watches to learn what i like than have one 3k watch

for all the guys who want a lookalike from a good brand but do not want to pay 1k+ take a look at invictas(i cannot guarantee they will last forever)

I have the carrera

it is the [censored] most awesomest thing on this planet.

It's a heavier, larger watch, and you feel like the ultimate baller with it on

my uncle is a watch maker, works on pateks and everything, self taught, works for a really respectable business, was able to get it to me for $900

to me its the perfect watch, not to flashy but fits me perfect, and i love the heavier feel of it.

i really like that IWC though, and now I'm starting to fall in love with this watch (saw it originally posted on here)

If I was to order a watch online (thinking the Carrera), is it easy to change the links on a metal strap to adjust the size?
