Villain is a 24/10/2.2 reg that I was pretty sure sucked. I'd picked up a bunch of hands on this table and gotten some action but never went to showdown, so he'd seen me play 3-4 hands in big pots, once with him. I got the feeling he wanted to play a big pot with me.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($132.10)
Button ($100)
SB ($273.10)
BB ($120)
Hero ($241.65)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $4, MP calls $4, 1 fold, SB calls $3.50, 1 fold.

Flop: ($13) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $9, MP folds, SB raises to $45, Hero calls $36.

Turn: ($103) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $224.1 (All-In)

The hands that kept popping into my head were combo draws like JTcc, QTcc, QJcc. Of course he could also have like AJcc, JT, obv made hands like sets, 98, and maybe air a small % of the time. His riv shove is 2x pot. The weird thing about his line is that it felt like he was getting in for 250bbs with the same range he was getting in for 100 with, and for 100 I snapcall.

Bones I tend to agree with your read and would call and yell for the river to blank.

you should have bet full pot or just under on the flop esp. vs a calling station, why did you bet ~1/2 pot on such a drawy board? Turn i can see just calling vs a competent opponent b/c that just completed every draw.

[/ QUOTE ]

thaks, fd. that's my standard cbet, so i use it when i hit the flop also to disguise my hand. against this opponent i see there is no need to do that. related question: do you normally make a bigger cbet on this type of flop when u miss?

I think you should have a standard c-bet size for coordinated flops and a different one for dry flops.

I usually bet about 1/2 the pot on dry flops and somewhere near full pot on coordinated flops. These bets are independent of whether I actually hit the flop.

dipstik,

When I have a big hand against a loose calling station I cbet big. When I whiff against a calling station I usually don't cbet.

When I'm playing a hand against a good regular opponent I sometimes worry about being deceptive.

Bones,

You have 61% equity vs. 88-TT,33,AcTc,JT,76. Add some 2 pair hands and it goes to near 50/50.

Board is ridiculously drawy and the overbet looks more like a draw.

Call.

Villains stack size leaves no decision at all, bet/call on the turn.
