Take this for what its worth from an old guy with a lot of drunken experiences:

Its been many years, but when I drank way way way too much, I'd wake up feeling like [censored] after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and couldn't go back to sleep because of how [censored] I felt.

If I only got normally drunk, instead of way way way too drunk, I'd sleep a long time.

I suspect, if you're like I was, you got too drunk if you cant sleep it off.

Nowadays, I dont even like to get drunk anymore.
