i agree about the outrageous tips that dealers typically get.

i don't tip bad dealers (slow, rude, incompetent), ever. i'll remember their face and never tip 'em. and there's a lot of e'm down here.

another thing i do is that i tip only when i win a second pot within a 30min slot (dealer's shift). i tip in 2 pot increments. so for instance, dealer sits down, i win a pot. then i win another pot before the dealer's shift ends, then i tip that dealer $2. then i repeat the cycle. if i don't win 2 pots with the same dealer, say i only win one pot, then i don't tip. i have to win 2 pots (imo, $2/pot seems to be the norm down here lol). so it averages out to $1/pot, but only sometimes, since i don't win 2 pots per 30 mins that often.

i find that winning a $70 pot and only tipping $1 screams arse-hole down here, so what i do is use people's lack of short term memory against them and try to project the image that i tip $2 every time i win a pot.

i know. stupid. but it's these little games in my head that keep me entertained while playing these ridiculously slow, low-limit games. that and guessing whether that young spinner by herself at the bar is a hooker or a citizen.

A few follow your example.

I will go to the track here every once in while just to get to play live a bit. I was playing one of the donkaments with probably the highest rake in the state (32+18) and won. The guy I beat heads up won $520 for second place, he tipped $170.

29% RAKE and he tips $170.............why even play?

Better yet, why doesnt this guy just give some money back to some losing players?

10/20 NL with $100 capped buy-in should be...ummm...interesting.
WTF are they thinking? This is getting beyond weird.

I'm beginning to think hardly anybody in Florida has ever seen poker outside the state because obviously this is unrealistic.

The dealers who think they will not be getting $5/hd obviously haven't been around very much either. But perhaps they're more correct than I think on this one if the players are as idiotic as evidently some of the personnel is.

I feel like I'm about to enter Poker-Retard land...and I'm loving it!!!

Bob from what I have heard, they are only going to restrict the initial buy-in and have chip runners on hand to get more for you once you are seated. They won't be capping the 10/20 game at $100, they're just capping what you can buy in for initially so that it appears they are within the letter of the law.

I would imagine they would allow you to buy up to at least 100 big blinds through chip runners once you've taken your seat.

That's interesting. What's to stop the other, non-Indian poker rooms from doing the same?

The fact they are NON-INDIAN and must follow the law much more closely so they dont run the risk of being shut down and fined.

1. Neither the local nor the state agencies can do anything about the Indians doing this
2. The Feds will more than likely be giving the Indians the go-ahead for this in the next few months anyway
3. Any room not on sovereign land would be shut down in a heartbeat for doing this by those same agencies that can't touch the Indians

So I can sit down at a 2/5 game, buy-in for $100, toke the dealer a buck, then get $200 more in chips? Is this how it works???
