Please remember though that it was the individuals who refused to accept the conventional wisdom that brought this controversy to a head. Otherwise, folks like yourself would have shrugged their shoulders and said -- "Well, Absolute reviewed the spreadsheet and determined that there was no evidence of cheating, so there is clearly no evidence of cheating."

But the statement you refer to is mine, and reads: "While lacking proof, his actions are completely consistent with being guilty." It refers to Mark Seif and his alleged cheating. We do not have proof that he cheated, do we? His actions are consistent with being guilty of cheating, right? Thus, I might agree that the statement is idiotic in some way, but it is both non-trivial and true, as I am sure you would agree. Hopefully, this is even more clear if the sentence is read not in pure isolation, but in context.
