Damn, Henson missed a cont. bet, rather he slept it. IDK what he was looking for not to bet the flop. Everytime I play a hand like that LIKE THAT, I deserve to lose it for not doing it right.

Uh oh, Scotty Nguyen and Kahn are falling to the back of the field.

[/ QUOTE ]

And as you say that, Scotty picks up a pot worth nearly 2 million.

"He's around a 3 to 1 underdog here against top set and he's getting 2.5 to 1 to call."

Closer to a 4 to 1 underdog against top set.

Featured Table: Scotty Nguyen Takes a 1.825 Million Pot
Raymond Rahme has the button in seat 7, Scotty Nguyen raises from middle position to 350,000, and Philip Hilm calls from the cutoff. The flop comes {6h}{3d}{2s}, Nguyen bets 420,000, and Hilm calls. There is now 1.825 million in the pot. The turn card is the {Ad}, Nguyen bets 700,000, and Hilm folds. The crowd applauds as Scotty Nguyen takes the pot.

Outer Table: Alex Kravchenko Wins a Showdown on the River

Jerry Yang has the button. Jon Kalmar limped in under the gun. Action folded around to Alex Kravchenko in the big blind who checked his option to raise. The two took a flop heads up...

{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Both players checked the flop. The turn brought the {9-Hearts}. Both players checked. The river came the {Q-Spades}. Kravchenko checked and Kalmar bet 200,000. Kravchenko called and the players showed...

Kalmar: {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Kravchenko: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Kalmar's pair was counterfeited by the higher two pair on the board and Kravchenko's ace-high was best. Kravchenko took down the pot.

Uhh I seem to be missing something here. How did 3 pair lose?

edit: looks like they got the names and cards mixed up. Nevermind, I thought the guy called with 7 high.

the amount of cynicism from some of the people in this thread is getting a little unnerving... cant you just say you would have played a hand differently rather than degrade a person in a situation you've probably never been in

[/ QUOTE ]

Many of us have been in these sorts of situations many, many times. Just because the buyin is 10K in this situation has no impact determining if the call was horrible or not.

11 outs, if we include the gutshot. That's exactly 3 to 1.
