Re: Update Friday, September 29th
[ QUOTE ]
If this bill passes (still trying to think positive, you never know), I will cash out all of my winnings, just to make a point to each site; you dumbf-ck poker sites should have put some money into protecting your interests. I hope everyone else does the same. I'll take a month or two off. Then I will slowly redeposit all of it to say [censored] you to these [censored] politicians and show them that their retarded attempts to thwart online gambling will never work. I am so pissed off right now. [/ QUOTE ] Ditto here!!! Makes me think of the letter Mike Caro wrote to Pokerplayersalliance.com, I believe the link was from here but I would like to repost it anyway as it recaps my sentiments exactly: Mike Caro Address to Poker Players Alliance Rio in Las Vegas / July 28, 2006 Permission is granted to copy, distributed, post on web sites, or quote in whole or in part, provided attribution is given and wording is not modified. Let’s fill in the blank: In order to operate our business, we will need ____. (A) employees; or (B) parents. The answer is (A) employees. Employees are the people who work for us. Parents are the folks who tell us what to do when we’re children. The United States is traditionally thought to be a beacon of freedom in an increasingly uncertain world. It has a government of the people, which means we hire employees to help us live free and happy lives, and we don’t pay parents to repress us. Some of our employees in the House of Representatives temporarily forgot why they were hired. They became confused and acted as unreasonable parents. And so, because we care about them — as we care about all our good employees — we must counsel them and make sure they understand that we are not China. You see, many of these same employees in the House have criticized China for denying its citizens free access to the ideas and activities on the Internet. Now they have passed a bill that would threaten American access to poker — our traditional card game. At a time when the world is bonding with us online through poker — a game that is at the heart of our heritage — are we going to leave empty chairs at those online tables, showing the world that we are repressed, that our parents have sent us to our rooms? In counseling our employees in the House of Representatives — employees we may choose to hire again — let us remind them that repression isn’t part of their job description, that poker is our game, that we’re proud to share it with the world, and that we are not China. END OF MIKE CARO ADDRESS TO POKER PLAYERS ALLIANCE This entire issue, imo, should have never been nosed into by our elected officials, such as they are. Cheryl Also as far as the poker sites being more proactive I have only recently heard there were a couple (amazing), but I was also surprized & frustrated that there were so few poker forums (exception of this one & couple of others) that were not doing much as far as rallying their members & keeping them informed on what they could do. I wrote to support to several & was angry & surprized to get little response. Do they not realize this could really happen? Cheryl |

[ QUOTE ] I can't wait to see the [censored] Republicans get thrashed this election. And [censored] Christians too. [/ QUOTE ] I doubt the vast majority of Americans give a crap whether Internet Gambling is legal or not, at least not enough to change their policital views. [/ QUOTE ] Ya and most people probably agree with the legislation anyway. |

Democrats voted yes too, they just didn't push to get this included. I will continue to not vote in protest of only ignorant people running for office.
