[ QUOTE ] looks like 7,000 short. [/ QUOTE ] ??? He needed 7.1M right? I refreshed at 11:59 and it was over. [/ QUOTE ] 7.115 donations have slowed to a measly 1k per min. |

I really have to wonder, given the total linearity of the graph, if there really is a fixed rate at which the credit card info can be checked. If that is the case, the number could conceivably be much higher. But I wouldn't get my hopes up. And they pretty much have to include west coast donors, who are, after all, still donating on November 5th. It may not be within a 24 period, but it's still a single day.

Remember that the running total doesn't include all the grandmas that by chance mailed in some donations today by check. Just a few thousand there and the total will easily surpass 4M

The AP headline says "more than $4.2m in 24 hours." If the pace continues until 8AM tomorrow he should have something insane like $5m in a 24 hour period.

Yes! There might be a backlog since the graph is steady at about $200k an hour for the whole day! Is that believable? At any rate, $4 million in 24 hours is pretty damn good and $7.1 million through 5 weeks is even better!

I wonder what kind of effects this will have on donation trends over the next few days and weeks. On the one hand, people might have been saving their donations for today and we could see a decline. On the other hand, the attention this gets in the media (I hope) could spark more people to give Ron Paul a closer look and also cause people who support Ron Paul but were on the fence about donating to finally open their wallets.
Should be interesting. |
