Injuries for Mulder

I'm wondering what happened to Izzy

He was never great, but his stats this year are such a significant dropoff from his previous Card years

that cutter of his is batting practice garbage. If Izzy was halfway decent, the Cards would be 15 over right now and in no real danger

Izzy asked for a new ball from the ump yesterday after giving up the walk-off. Having his head in the game might be a start. Whatever, I've always loathed him, this is nothing new.

So I'm not the only one that hates that pitch. I can't stand seeing him throw that thing a foot outside for pitch one and two every batter. Then he needs to throw a strike so the next one is waist high, middle of the plate, and 89 mph.

I just read that LaRussa decided to give Carpenter an extra day off and he won't pitch until Saturday

The good news is he will have a fresher arm come playoff time. The bad new is that I hope he isn't using that arm to turn on the remote and watch the playoffs from home.

Are you serious? Wow that's bad. I hope it was just instinct and not him simply not knowing the in game situation.

Yes, really. Pretty inexcusable.

I saw it too. It was almost like he wanted a do over. LOL. I don't know why, though, as he would have to watch another ball fly 425 feet.

This analysis is DEAD ON THE MONEY! Man it's so sad watching him fall behind all the time and then either try to nibble and walk yet another batter, or grove one that lands somewhere in Illinois.

What happened to this guy?

((Cut picture of Mulder))

3.45 ERA, 153 SO, 51 walks, 21 wins, 1.156 WHIP

Where did he go?

And how is it even possible for a guy who is 6'6'' to only throw 84 mph?

[/ QUOTE ]

Man, watching him pitch tonight made me feel sad for the guy. Grooving 85 mph heaters. He had absolutely nothing to go with tonight. Let's call the A's and ask if we can have Dan Haren for Izzy and Mulder, but hang up before we hear them laughing.
