Re: FLORIDA ALLOWING POKER GAME STAKES TO BE RAISED IN JULY!

[ QUOTE ] An advantage to Carrolwood would be living closer to TAMPA DOWNS and TAMPA GREYHOUND.............as well as being close to the HR [/ QUOTE ] I agree. I live in the Northdale area, which makes the Hard Rock a slight bit of a hike (at least for drunken $1/$2). If you can find a decent apartment or house off of Fletcher, east of Dale Mabry, every place would be convenient. 1. Are we expecting the new limits Saturday at midnight? 2. Has anyone been to the strip club on Hillsborough right near there? They're charging $10 now to get in and I wanted to know if it's worth it. [/ QUOTE ] 1. New limits are suppose to start at 8am Sunday, but you might want to ge there by Midnight Saturday if you want a seat by 8am 2. It is called Tootsies and in my opinion it is definately not worth even driving there from The Hard Rock. If you are looking for that and are at The Hard Rock just get on I-4 and take it West for about 5-20 minutes(depending on traffic) and get off at Dale Mabry North. Go right at the light, get in the far left lane immediately and turn left next to the car wash at Mons Venus. Cover is $20.00. Dances are $25-$30 and it is a "hands on" establishment. It can get crazy busy there on the weekends, especailly if the Bucs play at home that weekend. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I've been to the Hard Rock Tampa and it was so difficult for me to find. Of course I am 100% unfamiliar with the area so that didn't help. Their poker room did look quite a bit smaller than in Hollywood so I'm not sure how they're going to fit all those games. [/ QUOTE ] How many tables in Hollywood now? [/ QUOTE ] I couldn't give you a good estimate but it looked at least 5-6 times bigger than Tampa's [/ QUOTE ] So it's as big as Commerce? That's, umm, surprising. It looks that big because there is no 10 ft. ceiling and walls on 3 sides, like in Tampa. I think Hollywood has 60 or 70. |

To get the $20 price, you need to be either one hard-ass negotiator (or demonstrate all you have left is $20 and no further access to cash), in there on a VERY slow night, or buying in bulk. |

Yes Vox you are correct that they do start at $20.00. In my experience the only girls giving the $20 ones are the bottom of the barrell and if you poor mouth a hottie into a $20 dance you wind up getting more like a $7.50 dance. Just my opinion/experiences.

Or taking them up on a $20 offer if it's real slow. YMMV. |

Re: FLORIDA ALLOWING POKER GAME STAKES TO BE RAISED IN JULY!
There's an article about the new stakes in today's Sun-Sentinel, but all of it has been covered here already, so I am not linking it. It does focus on the Seminole Casinos getting the higher stakes, mentions very little about the non-Indian rooms (can someone say "paid article?").
BUT, nits who don't come to 2p2 will be reading it. And lining up. I called the Creek yesterday ... they're going to have NL on 7/1, but they don't know the max buy-in. If they have it more than $100, I'm probably going there over The Isle. |

For those of us who do not want to still rely on "i heard from a dealer that"..the Sun_Sentinel has settled the question
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/loc...ker0629nbjun29,0,6534424.story The indians will not rock the boat. No high limit HE yet... |

Re: FLORIDA ALLOWING POKER GAME STAKES TO BE RAISED IN JULY!
The Seminoles are staying in line with the legislation. $100 NL buyins and $5 limit. Those of you who got other stories by calling the casinos obviously got bad information.

Everyone was thinking the Seminoles were going to offer so much more than the pari-mutuels. They are not going to risk that. Anyway, it is still a lot better than we had with the $2 limit. Can't wait till Sunday. |

Re: FLORIDA ALLOWING POKER GAME STAKES TO BE RAISED IN JULY!
The Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa is offering higher limits. Their staff has confirmed it and they have flyers posted in the poker room. The ante up guys have also confirmed it.
