Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
One thing people may find interesting is how jobs are advertised: Finance officer, male between the ages of 25-33, etc.. Not that it will matter for you guys, but its just interesting. |

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
I love this fact.
If you own a company in Thailand and are looking for some hot chicks to staff it with, you plain out say it in the classifed ad. Secertary Needed Age 21-25 Must be atractive and slim Send photo with resume to blah@blah.com Its awesome. Its the way it should be. |

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
Guys: tips on buying a phone and bringing it back home? I drooled over the cabinets in the MBK last visit, thinking of bringing something home. Have a concept on unlocking and GSM access, but no idea on how to actually do it. Tips?

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
Be carful about buying in thailand for usa. I spent $400 on a [censored] awesome samsung only to find out it wont work in usa. When I read the specs I got the impression that I could use it anywhere in the world but that was not the case.
Also, dont ask the seller. THey will tell you anything to get you to buy it. If you find a nice phone at MBK, goto the 7th floor all the way at the back, there in an internet cafe, spend 20 baht and go online and confirm anything you need. Good questions guys. Keep them comming |

I have used a new Thai Nokia that I bought in Bangkok and I tried using it on my last visit to the USA and it didn't work with a cingular sim card. I also used an unlocked phone in Thailand that I had brought with me from the USA. I bought an unlocked phone on ebay and I could use the sim card from cingular in the US or the Thai sim card from 1-2 call (ais) in Thailand. I also used a different unlocked phone in the past that I had bought from mphone. It worked in both locations. Mphone has some sweet phones that are not available in the USA. Brand new and unlocked. Not cheap though. I think unlocked is the way to go if you want to use your phone in both places. http://www.mphone.co.uk/acatalog/sim_free.html |

Re: Ask Degen Anything About Living In Thailand
yea this thread needs to keep going... trip reports... stories... whatever... my favorite thing after coming home at 7am after my B&M session is reading the 50 some odd posts of the day in this thread before passing out.
