lolololol how can the refs in the NFL be so piss poor? that's at least 3 horrendous calls today.
Yet somehow they aren't villified in the press/ESPN the way NBA & NHL refs are

People do care about hockey there, you know. NFL refs do not get anywhere close to the [censored] that NBA and NHL refs get. NFL refs routinely make errors with regard to procedure and rules knowledge that is simply awful and inexcusable. It's one thing not to see a play right - it's yet another to not know the damn rules.

The media in the NFL does the biggest shill job of any sport. The only carping of officiating is done by fans, not by national writers of consequence. Same goes for the players. How often have you heard something the lines of "Sean Merriman got 17 sacks in only 12 games, what an animal, what a great player" No mention that the guy missed 4 games for roids, at this point it might as well have been 4 games for a pulled hamstring
