4-3 over the Athletics. Good performance by Wright, dominant relief by Proctor and a good, if not nerve wracking, save by Farnsworth. Key HRs... A-Rod's 3 run bomb in the first and a Jeter solo HR. Sturtze, as usual, sucked.

I believe he's saying both balls were hit too hard and the plays too difficult to warrent being given in both occasions.
I don't agree with this sentiment but I believe thats what he was trying to say.
