I don't think anyone thinks the Padres bats are what will win this game for them. If anything its Peavy. That is the only advantage they have. Albeit a really really big advantage there. Our 1-8 is far superior.

I agree... but their dominant pitching mediocre bats vs your mediocre pitching and good bats is a very bad combo on that moon you call a stadium.

Bravos,

Fogg is probably about average.. but steps up vs. tough competition. Our closers are anything but mediocre. As long as Fogg doesn't give it away early I think we should be able to keep them in check just fine.

In fact, our pitching isn't really mediocre anymore. Jimenez is insane, Francis is good, Morales is solid. Fogg is about the biggest question and unfortunately he goes tonight. I concede he is average, though.

No one disagrees with that Herbie.

But our 8 >>>>>>>> Pads 8.

We just need to be close after 5 or 6 and make Peavy stretch some counts. No easy feat, I admit.

Also, our defensive support is far superior to SD's.

I hope we win too We beat Peavy last time we played them when we swept them. It can happen. (Technically it was a no contest, but both times he's pitched to us they've been no contests)
