im thinking of moving to PB area and am figuring that ill need a 2br also. i mean just a computer desk takes up a bunch of room if you got couch/tv/nicebed.

what are your thoughts on 2br vs 1br

You can probably find a 2bd for like $2-400 more than what you would to live alone in a 1bd. I think its totally worth it for all the space you get. I just have a desk in one room, and a bed in the other right now and I still really like having that separation between everything that I do in my house.
