Bob Griese said today during the UM ND game, the only difference between the two quarterbacks is that one has moved the ball effectively, has Mike Hart, and hasnt made mistakes.

I think it was Lou Holtz last weekend before the LSU-VaTech game. "You know what, if they want to win tonight, Virginia Tech is gonna have to play better than LSU."

This is hilarious. Does Blyleven still commentate?

Yankees Radio Network broadcasters John Sterling & Suzyn Waldman:

During a game broadcast in Tampa earlier this year, John Sterling is ecstatic about having met Urban Meyer pre-game. Sterling speaks highly of Meyer as if to inform the listening audience of who is Urban Meyer. But Sterling never actually mentions details about his conversation with Meyer and instead concludes his "praise" of Meyer by congratulating Florida State on their national football championship!!! Suzyn Waldman, who is equally obtuse (unless this is all a premeditated rub on Meyer), echoes John Sterling's sentiment and congratulates Florida State on their trophy! I haven't listened to a Yankees radio broadcast since...

Mike Golic: It's not that they're 0-3, it's how they lost. They allowed a lot of points and didn't score a lot of points.

-------

Mike Golic seems to take advice from John Madden when it comes to saying stuff like that.

Do you also get a point when a player makes a play with "calm eyes"?

Also, not sure if anyone saw the HOU/CAR football game yesterday but somebody on CAR made a catch for like a 10-yard gain near the sideline where he had to basically reach down and to his right to catch the ball, nothing too special, but the annoucer said "He caught that ball like Derek Jeter!"

WWWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF? Jeter has transcended baseball with his calm eyes and multi-racial skintone.

Just today listening to Sirius sports channels...don't even know the names, but...

One guy this morning was trying to make the case that Vince Young was much better than Cutler because "Denver has 2 lucky wins this year".

Another guy just now said that a way to explain the Saints bad play is that last year, becasue of Katrina, they played the entire season with an "emotional advantage" over their opponents.

You can't make this stuff up.

Hurricane season isn't over. New ORLEEINS can still become galvanized by Mother Nature and make a bid for HFA throughout the playoffs.

I could pretty much just post the entire transcript of MNF here. WTF is Charles Barkley doing there?

Jaworski's analysis can be pretty solid much of the time.
Makes the whole broadcast worthwhile imo.
