all of us were in hibernation and refused to spend money during the Jailblazer era.

[/ QUOTE ] naw, you guys just didn't watch em cause they weren't good. Admit it. My buddy is as diehard a blazers fan as you will find and he never missed a game during this period.

And Terrell Brandon and Allan Houston and Penny Hardaway.

Notice that those players were much older than Amare, Oden.

With the 2008 #1 pick, the Portland Trailblazers select Derrick Rose of Memphis University. Cheer up Portland, it could happen.

Still sucks, cuz we'll never see how good Oden could've been.

Kidd & Stockton came back from it at a pretty late age also.

I recall Ki-Jana Carter being drafted #1 overall by the Bengals in the NFL draft in the early 90s. During his first season, he faced a serious ACL injury and was never the same again. Because of that, he (unfairly) goes down in history as one of the biggest draft busts of all time.

Naw, I seriously said that. I wanted the premier perimeter player who could attack the basket. Everyone said I was wacko and should want the dominant big man. I even remember Assani saying the same thing.

[/ QUOTE ]

Unless you were saying 'don't pick Oden b/c he's a bigger injury risk' or whatever, how is that relevant?

The bigger factor is that the technique itself has been done many more times now.

[/ QUOTE ]because I felt then Durant was the better pick? He was even the better overall pick for Portland as well.

I bought season tickets, sold about half on eBay for a nice profit and was holding the other half the tickets to sell later.

Doh!
