Going to the casino, for the same reasons you mentioned for the museum. I don't want to be rushed to leave and I don't want to rush someone else if I lose my money fast.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a good one. This one, and driving, but apart from that not a lot else for me.

I always wear headphones AND read AND write in a notebook when I'm eating just so people leave me alone.

edit: actually, I do that when I'm not eating, too

What do you write in your notebook? Or is it just for show?

Homework (I'm an English major).

Maybe I'm just much more social than the average 2p2er, but I find myself disagreeing with most of these.

A few that really stand out to me: drinking and smoking pot? C'mon, you guys can't be serious with this one. It's sometimes nice to sit back and relax on the balcony with a glass of wine. But 99% of the time, I prefer to enjoy drinks or a bowl with a group of good friends.

Another strange one, IMO: Eating dinner alone. Huh? Whenever I eat out alone, I always feel awkward.

As for the OP, I would much prefer commuting to work alone. For some reason, I always seem to run into a friend or coworker on my commute every day. To be polite, I feel obligated to turn off my iPod, put away my book, and have a small-talk conversation that I really don't care about. I should be enjoying the few free moments I have to myself each week, but instead have to talk about my weekend or the weather. Ugh.

I like going for a pub lunch on my own if I'm in the city buying [censored], I do this maybe once a month and have a couple beers and some semi decent food. I enjoy it because I'll play some poker in the morning then go for some food and I feel lucky I don't have to slave for my wage.

Museums and exploring new places as has been mentioned is usually much better on your own.

When I was really into pool I used to go down to the pool hall by myself and [censored] around practicing shots for half an hour or so then have a pickup game with a random bum hanging around the bar. I don't think I'd do that now that I don't play pool so much, but I learnt quite a bit from those cheap bastards who will never pay for a game.

Now that sounds awesome, it really does.

I've only done this like twice: sitting on a park bench, people watching. I enjoy this a whole lot. Wish I had more time to do this.
