[ QUOTE ]
If I do file a report, can it be kept confidential? Does anyone know what the repercussions would be? Would they have to go talk to him, or if I ask the police to just keep it on record in case will they do that?

Will it even be taken seriously if I do? After all, besides him being a major scumbag, all he did was grab my arm (and block the door which I can't prove). Saying I would be extremly sorry is obviously a threat to scare me, but he didn't say he would actually hurt me. He could just say that he meant I would regret losing the friendship with his wife, etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

The police will be able to answer all those questions way better than we can. They deal with this stuff all the time, this is what they get paid for and you arent the first person this has ever happened to. Just call them and ask what you should do.

Either that or bump this thread every 3 or 4 days so that we know you are still alive. Also you'll have to leave us some contact info (so we can tell the authorities where to go), and several pictures of yourself (so we can describe you). Im all for this, but honestly, just calling the cops will prolly be less of a hassle [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Am I the only one who doesn't believe a word of this?

[/ QUOTE ]

I had that thought when I was reading it, and was surprised that all of the reactions were so serious/helpful. But, if it is [censored], what is lost by people giving helpful advice as it if were true? Pretty much nothing. Giving glib [censored] answers if it is true, on the other hand, seems like relatively high order douchebaggery. So kudos to OOT on its handling of this one.

I was impressed by how many people offered to help and gave serious advice. I am not offended by people who made jokes, I don't think any of them were actually mean spirited.

As far as making something like this up, its way to serious of an issue to create a story about.

There is also the option of calling him on the phone and recording the convosation so that you have proof to give his wife, should you decide to tell her.

[/ QUOTE ]
I like this option.

[/ QUOTE ]

You must do this if you want to tell the wife.

Is there merit to the chance that OP is just a crazy lady obsessed with someone's husband who came onto him and got rejected and is now making all of this up to show to the wife the website?

You should have been sneakier about telling her. Hopefully she realizes that you wanted to talk first and are more likely telling the truth.

OP says:

As far as making something like this up, its way to [sic] serious of an issue to create a story about.

[/ QUOTE ]

But posting on OOT and apparently seeking no other counsel whatsoever perfectly befits its seriousness? Honestly, somebody gets assaulted and threatened by a psycho and literally their only initial action is to post it here? What?

Anything is possible, I guess.
