I just got my second. I had a horse tattooed on my back when I was 18. It's small and simple, easily hidden.

And then a few weeks back, I got a gold horse shoe on my ankle with a K in it, for my filly Kylie that died a few months ago. It's about the size of a quarter.

After my first tattoo, I didn't plan on getting another. Nothing else was important enough to me to mark myself permanently. Losing my baby changed that.

I don't see myself getting another, but I suppose that could change. The most recent one hurt more than all my other body decorations combined, lol, so it might have scared me away.

Got the third, my family coat of arms, on our 1st wedding anniversary.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is my plan for my first tattoo, on my right shoulder.

Did you get it in B&W or in color? I am leaning strongly towards B&W.

^^ That kind of reminds me of the first time I was ever in a tattoo shop. There was a guy and a girl there and the guy had one of those cheesy hearts with the ribbons wrapped around it. All 3 ribbons were solid black and there was a girl's name written below the heart. The girl he was with was there paying to have yet another name blacked out.

Your friend should just have that covered up with something else if he doesn't want it. It's not all that uncommon to get tattoos covered up or changed in some way.

Color. The guy did some pretty cool embellishments - gold leafy thingies and a knight's helmet on top. It's on my left shoulder.

This is my coa:

Do any of people have any regrets over your tattoo choices?

I don't. I think you have to absolutely love a design though, before getting it done, that way you won't have regrets (hopefully). Also, never EVER put a name on your body other then your child or your parents or in memory of someone, certainly not a lover/spouse/gf/etc.
