Re: Mike Vick gets me thrown out of a bar in St. Louis
that freddy mercury thing is pretty LOL
i would have just asked him for a glass of water, like boris said, he doesn't have to fill up the dog bowl if he doesn't feel like it, but he should give you some water |

Re: Mike Vick gets me thrown out of a bar in St. Louis
[ QUOTE ]
Wowowow. Can't believe so many people think the bartender should fill up the water bowl. In 99.9% of bars you ask for a glass of water and fill up the bowl yourself. The only way a bartender fills up the water bowl is if you are in a super expensive high class place, like the bar at a Ritz-Carlton or something. [/ QUOTE ] I guess this is possible, but the place is a total dive bar, and he had already filled up the water bowl at least once. Also, I was extremely nice when I asked him to fill it. I said something like "Would you mind putting a little water in here when you get a chance, please?" and not "Fill up the dog bowl, assbag." |

I'm still amazed that seeing dogs in bars is such common occurance for some posters. |

I was on the verge of respond to Boris's post until the RC line made me realize it was a level.
Which leads me to ask "how commonplace is the dog/bar thing". |

Re: Mike Vick gets me thrown out of a bar in St. Louis
all - Level? WTF? There was no level. If you take your dog to the bar don't expect the bartender to fill his doggy bowl? How is this not obvious? The standard move is ask for a glass of water and then pour the water into the doggy bowl.

Re: Mike Vick gets me thrown out of a bar in St. Louis
It didn't strike me as a bad thing either way, unless the rim of the bowl has poop clinging to it or something. Then again, I'm not fearful or repulsed by animals. If someone is, I'd figure they wouldn't let the thing in their bar. If not, it seems hypocritical to get all weirded out.
Now when you start asking the bartender to clean up your dog's poop, you're going too far. But what the heck is the big deal about giving the dog water or who is the person filling the bowl? Either way seems completely fine and it's a non-issue. |

If I'm bartending there, I just give you a glass of water and silently fume about someone thinking it's my job to come from behind the bar and fill a dog's water bowl for the fourth time, let alone the first. It's a bar, not a kennel. |
