This is a key point from what I've seen. You can't trust a word he says. He always moans late in a tourney about how he hasn't been all-in yet.

He uses his bets to extract information. He plays weak to entice you to play hard. This should be exploitable.

The fact that He has been playing for 20 plus years probably plays a role. You don't have to win alot of tourney play if you play ALL the time you are going to win a few. It is the odds of the game. Plus, He is a major ball buster He keeps his competition up at arms. His book "Kill Phil" will tell you everything you need to know to beat him.

1. Hellmuth didn't write "Kill Phil."
2. The "Kill Phil" method couldn't accurately be described as a good way to beat Phil Hellmuth.

You are right it was written by Blair Rodman and Lee Nelson. It was approved by Phil Hellmuth and He said it was in part about him and his tournament strategy. On the very first page it says who wants a credible book out there by though-as-nails poker players telling the world how to beat you?

The "Kill Phil" strategy does not resemble Hellmuth's strategy at all. In fact it is basically the exact opposite.

Not buying it. Lots of people have been playing as many tournaments as him for just as long and lack the 40 top 10 finishes. It's not like he luckboxed into 11 bracelets. He makes the final table a lot and converts a lot. For all his character flaws, he is a remarkably talented tournament hold 'em player.

I NEVER said He didn't have talent. I do think there are many talented players out there and He should give them a little credit as well. I mean He is just an over the top ego-maniac.
