Re: Vegas Trip Report(s!): Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
Matt,
"Can you please tell the crowd your tipping standards during play for the dealer. If there is one thing I learned from you this week, was the power of tip strategys during peaks and valleys in the session." In the past, I'd generally go with just bet one denomination lower than my betting chips for the dealer (so, if I am betting green chips, bet red for the dealer) once I won two or three in a row, then keep betting for them until I lose a hand. lapoker gave me a new strategy, which was to tip in advance for the shoe. So, this time I would generally tip a couple of reds in advance for a good shoe, then often bet the first hand as well. Sometimes if things were running really good, toss an extra tip to the dealer mid-shoe. Also, if things were running really bad, tip them mid-shoe as well. The tips for the shoe go straight to the dealer. All other tips are bets for the dealer. la and I disagree on whether or not betting for the dealer is unlucky. At the Hard Rock, bets for the dealer are definitely lucky. At other places, results are inconclusive. Also if leaving a table up, leave uneven chips for the dealer. Of course, cocktail waitresses tipped $5/drink. |

James, la:
"i actually love this situation. others at the table know pretty quickly that i want them to win" This is really the common bond among our slightly differing styles of play. IMO, it is the mark of a true expert level pit player. I'm amazed at the progress James has made in such a short time and look forward to really great things from him. |

i,
Not sure what exactly you're asking, but they let us bet the table max whenever we wanted. |

dealer head up 500 min was the key to all you guys being up for the night btw. Unfortunately, I think I was the only one stuck by the time we left.

Re: Vegas Trip Report(s!): Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
All,
What are your thoughts on fist bumps as opposed to high fives? Being English I consider myself quite reserved and generally feel like an uncoordinated buffoon when attempting a high-five. However there is something so downright ludicrous about the fist bump that gives me great pleasure, not to mention the option to cater it to every occasion by altering the power of the contact and the volume of the accompanying 'boom!'. |

Re: Vegas Trip Report(s!): Fine Dining, Gambooling, and more...
the fist bump has almost universally replaced the high five in my circle.
we also "blow it up" which is the secondary move to the fist bump. |
