re: why hasn't this poll been made.

Because Chan and Brunson in their prime weren't even in the same league as Raymer.

Ungar is clearly the best in your poll

It matters how you define best player.

Best NL hold tournament player to win is either Hellmuth or Ungar.

Best overall player, including cash games and other games would be Brunson.

This isn't even a contest, Stu Ungar was the greatest player of all time. No one else is even close.

One time he blinded off while passed out on the floor and took 9th. He could count a six deck shoe. He busted the LV gin action. The guy was easily the best card player, not just poker player, of all time.

In addition to three WSOP ME bracelets, he won the SuperBowl of poker three times. And had a couple more WSOP bracelets to boot.

There just isn't an argument.

Chan has best acheivements in ME

Didn't Raymer and Harrington both done better then Chan (because of big fields)?

I'd think either Stu Unger or Chan was the best.

I would go with Ungar, but no one has mentioned Johny Moss. He was considered the best player for a long time before the WSOP started.

Since this thread has made it several pages without this guy named, I'll just say his name for the heck of it...

Ferguson.
