The thing is that I think that he thought that it was legit funny "tee hee I'm doing a foam AGAIN" and that everybody would laugh along with him. He's just that weird.

Dids - yeah he also seemed genuinely amused that he did a "saffron foam" during S1 vs. S2 competition (though haha it was kind of funny).

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I totally agree with this assessment. The thing about Marcel was that his food was legit good even without all that molecular junk, he just wanted to bring it all the time for whatever reason. Ilan seems totally incapable of doing a good dish that's not Spanish, and in fact can barely cook anything that's not on his restaurant's menu. Anyway watching the Season 1 vs. Season 2 made me miss Season 1. Those guys are better cooks and better people. It does seem like the producers have decided to play up the personality conflicts for that reality show drama. |

How many home-cooked meals have you had that had foam in them? None, here. I doubt that will change in the near future, and I don't think it's an unusual answer. It's certainly not homey, and it's definitely frou-frou.

Bourdain's barb at one of the guys was hillarious, something like "it's home cooking, but from a home I wouldn't want to eat in". |

So what indeed? I have trouble seeing how this became a discussion.
And much love to Bourdain. |

Bourdain got totally owned with that ecuadorian line cook comment, totally destroyed.

All,
Camille and Casey are hot. Hung doesn't seem nearly as annoying as Marcel. Partly because at first glance he appears to be a more skilled chef. |

But I would expect all of those from quality restaurants. The foam thing is not bad because it's difficult (foams are rather easy). It's a gimmick whose novelty wears off quickly. |
