Joey Chestnut Destroys Kobayashi's World Record!!!

Hahaha, this is so great. I am acutally really looking forward to the 4th of July just for this occasion.

As a former competitve eater myself (12 Philly area titles & Philly Wing Bowl Appeareance), I've always been big into competitive eating- but this is the first time I feel like it will acutally be competitive.

I'm looking for Chestnut to hit 60 and beat Kobayashi by 3-5 dogs. Borrow if you have to.

It sounds like Chestnut is trying the "act tough" move, which is probably the right one, but Kobayashi is totally in his head.

If Koby really had a wisdom tooth removed only last week, that is a HUGE factor.

When Kobayashi steps on the stage at Coney Island, he'll put all physical ailments out of his head and enter the zone. The only thing he will focus on is crushing Chestnut.

Forecast is for 79 and partly cloudy, which is pretty ideal eating conditions. If Chestnut can repeat his Arizona performance and put 59 on the board, I think he beats a (fully healthy?) Kobayashi.

I'm trying to gather a bunch of people to head over to Coney Island really early tomorrow. Hopefully getting there around 6am will get us properly ramped up and in prime-TV position. Look for the guys holding the various "USA!!! USA!!!" and "I'm a Chest-NUT!" signage.

I dunno about 6 am, but I'm gonna try to head over to Coney Island if I wake up in time. I'm not sure who I'm rooting for. I just hope that Kobayashi is able to make it competitive.

Pinny and 5dimes had a line up for the past month or two, but both took it down a few days ago. Kobayashi stayed pretty steady as a slight dog against the field, between +105 and +125 most of the time I think. They had an o/u on the number of dogs the winner ate too, but I forget what it was.
