Photos: Your Commute

I'm taking 1 summer class at my school, so my pictures I'll take this week probably won't much of the "scenery" it usually would have, but I'll take pictures of my walk/drive I do every day. Unfortunately, it will be far less exciting than everyone else's.

I have a 14-minute walk (12 if I'm spritely) from my apartment in West Hollywood to my office in West Hollywood. I believe I'm one of 8 people in the city of Los Angeles who can walk to work.

Step 1: Wake up, look out my balcony upon smoggy L.A. skies



Step 2: Leave apartment building and turn up the street, leaving a nice quiet neighborhood for one of the busiest and most famous boulevards in the United States: the Sunset Strip



Step 3: Turn the corner and walk under my neighboring building, Hustler Hollywood


Step 4: Head down Sunset, past the Whiskey


Step 5: Keep heading down the block


past the infamous Viper Room


Step 6: Say hello to all the wild Sunset billboards


Step 7: Then turn onto a side street


Where off to the right I can see the Pacific Design Center


Step 8: Get to wait at the long light at LaCienega


Step 9: Go towards Barney's (good sushi place next door, too)


Step 10: And finally...

THE only person that walks to work, I believe. I frequent the PDC when I'm bored. It's an awesome place.

Hopefully I'll go on campus soon to take pictures.

This seems insanely balla to me, living on Sunset Blvd. Is it ridic expensive? Did motley crue ever throw up in your living room?

There are some really expensive places around here, but some of the apartments aren't that bad. My 1-br is $1,400/mo. which is on the upper range of apts. in L.A. but not for this neighborhood, and it's dirt cheap compared to SF or NY so I don't complain.

I used to share a 2-br, though, just 1.5 mi. away that cost $1,200/mo. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
