Summer '07 movie reviews/discussion (SPOILERS)

I saw 28 Weeks Later last night. It bit. 3/10, and I have a low threshold for being entertained. Can't even recommend it as a rental.

Smokin' Aces gets a 6/10. Had a few good points but overall dragged. However, they blew so much stuff up I almost gave it a courtesy 7.

I saw the preview for this during either 24 or Heroes on Monday, and I was really impressed. It looks like it'll be a pretty fun movie.

Im really looking forward to Live Free or Die Hard and O13. Im really easily entertained, as Im not looking for some deep, artistic movie. I know what Im getting into.

I second this. I can't wait to see the scene where they shutted down 10 miles+ of I-405 for a chase scene.

Pirates Of the Caribbean Non Spoiler

Best movie of all 3 (IMO). Make sure you watch the last two to refresh your mind b/c you will be lost as a mofo if you dont (although even if you are lost, you will still enjoy it, Like i did.

Alpha Dog...it wasn't as [censored] up as Bully but I thought the acting of the young kid and Justin Timberlake was pretty good. The karate older brother was waaay over the top.
The ending was brutal. Was a decent rental but nothing great.

POTC 3: This movie sucked pretty bad. No new interesting characters to get into ala Davey Jones in #2. Waay to long...the end sequence was cool but it sucked overall as mindless entertianment.

Spiderman 3: Sucked...way to many villians, script was rushed, just to much of everything. I'm kind of over Spiderman.

28 Weeks Later: Nothing close to the original. It is uneven and weak in certain areas...I'd say its good up until the helicopter cutting down zombies in the grass scene..it falls apart from there on
several scenes make no sense at all.

TRAILERS
LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD
The new John McClaine movie looks stupid post Jason Bourne/Jack Bauer. Willis looks really old and it just seems like all action no plot...and it has the Mac guy as a sidekick..annoying.
The trailer is poorly done.

Knocked up trailer looks kinda funny but nothing mindblowingly good...seems like it should be as good as the 40 year old Virgin or a little bit less.

Fantastic Four looks really dumb even with the silver surfer. Horrible writing and directing and acting.

Transformers will be worth $10 but it will suck overall cuz Michael Bay is directing.

SUNSHINE
This movie has like the gayest concept ever "Lets restart the sun". But it has Cillian Murphy who is awesome and its directed by Danny Boyle...maybe it will suck but the trailer looks amazing.

just based off the trailer this is the #1 movie I'm looking forward to for this summer so far.


I hear Waitress and Once are really good.

Oceans 13 will probably be meh but it will be an enjoyable meh....cuz the nose plays.
I'll miss the french dude and his crazy yoga robbery moves though. That scene alone made Oceans 12 worthwhile

Anyone else psyched for Hostel 2? I loved the first one and have a lot of faith in Eli Roth to deliver again.
