kobe's the best offensive player in the league and a far superior defender to nash and dirk.......with the lakers supporting cast (especially factoring in how many games Odom missed), kobe's impact has been gigantic, i.e. this team would be one of the 3-4 worst in the league without him

So how is it really hands down that Dirk is MVP?

[/ QUOTE ]
Dallas is 59-11. Lakers are 38-33. Hope this helps.

lollerskates. Seriously, that is the worst argument ever. So bc Dirk has J. Howard, Stack, Harris and Terry, he deserves MVP? Kobe has an injured Odom, Walton (lol), Smush (lol) and Kwame (lol). Its the MVP not MVT.

it doesnt at all.....have u seen the lakers supporting cast? the 2nd best player (odom) is the one legit option and he's missed 35% of the season....the 3rd best player (somehow Luke Walton) has missed 30% of the season

Kobe might be MVP, but he'll never get voted as it. To win the MVP nowadays you need to be on a top 5 record team at worst unless their are some rediculous circumstances.

Irrelevant. They don't give MVPs out to players on teams hovering around .500. Although I don't plan to research it, I think the average number of wins by the MVP's team is around 60 (nearly .750 ball), and Nash winning when the Suns only won 54 games last year was a bit of an outlier.

just because they dont give the award to people on teams with the lakers' record doesnt mean they shouldnt........if you compare the 2 supporting casts, its almost laughable

I agree the Lakers supporting cast is weak, but I don't get all the Walton hate here. He's no star, but he fits really well in the triangle and makes things alot easier on Kobe

i love walton, i think he's a great rotation guy but to have him as the 3rd option on a playoff team is pretty ridiculous IMO
