Re: What happened to Josh Arieh?
[ QUOTE ]
i thought arieh was a pretty interesting character. that laydown of the 2nd nut flush was like the best play ive ever seen. [/ QUOTE ] yeah that was insane. murphy shoved like 1.5x pot on river though which made it a little easier, but still. I don't think he's busto, mostly b/c he made that 2.5 at the series and I haven't heard anything about him donking it up in big cash games. |

[/ QUOTE ] On the contrary, I think that shove was super-excellent on Murphy's part, because in that exact situation (paired board, flush draw gets there), the person holding the flush will usually call....this of course kinda makes Arieh's laydown even more impressive. If I had to guess, Josh is doing fine and just isn't interested in doing the tour full-time. |

and layin it to his hottie wife, no?
And despite his crappy attitude (only what they showed on TV), he made a couple pretty impressive plays, including that flush laydown. |

Re: What happened to Josh Arieh?
Having never met him that's completely in line with what I thought of him and his character. From what little I do know of him he often seems like he's an okay guy.

[/ QUOTE ] Not saying I disagree with you but one thing I found interesting about Josh was his advice. In an interview with Josh shortly after his cash at ME 04 he had one piece of advice for wannabees, he said "walk past all the other games in casinos". He said so many players go broke on other games that there's no way to be a success when you do both. Then it seems about everytime I read his blog he'd talk about how much he won or lost playing poker machines. Then for about 6 months after that all DN talked about was how he, Arieh, and Lindgren were betting on pool, golf, and sports. He may be loaded but he could have also got his nose open to those other vices. I like the guy because of what his family values seem to be. Then I see him be a complete jerk to many people. |

Re: What happened to Josh Arieh?
He didn't look very happy when he got busted and made a hasty exit, unlike some of the other stars who signed autographs and took pictures after being busted.

[/ QUOTE ] I have a problem calling degenerate gamblers "stars". I have no problem with any poker player being disgruntled when they exot a tourney or cash game. It sucks to lose. I think its hilarious anyone would want an autograph from a pro player anyways. It's not like these guys are move stars or NBA players. |

Re: What happened to Josh Arieh?
Uh, the tournament is called "Shooting Star", and he was one of them. The player that busts them wins a $5000 bounty.
