David, do you think it's cheating if you see someone's cards reflected through their glasses?

[/ QUOTE ]

The question should actually be do I think it is "wrong".

[ QUOTE ]
1) Without naming names do you know of or have reasonable cause to suspect any well-known players currently cheating at poker?

By cheating I mean having some sort of system in place--more than occassionally stealing a glance at someone exposing their cards.

2) If you knew of a well-known player currently cheating, would you expose their cheating to others?

3) Are there card mechanics so good that you would be unable to detect them even if they were dealing at your table for any reasonable amount of time?

4) Did you delete the other yes or no thread because of your answer relating to the topic of cheating?

BTW and FWIW, I think your answer in the previous thread was highly commendable and is something few poker professionals would do.

[/ QUOTE ]

1. I'm out of the loop now. I do know that many, if not most poker players who play for a living, don't cheat only because it is a bad play to do so. That might be slightly less true now than thirty years ago. But to think that a guy who would otherwise have to get a job wouldn't purposely move next to someone who inadvertantly exposed his cards, to avoid said job is to be ridiculously naive.

2. No

3. I think so.

4. No

Default My GREAT Question!

[ QUOTE ]
The question should actually be do I think it is "wrong".

[/ QUOTE ]

Someone once said "There is no right or wrong" Don't remember who. I somewhat agree with that statement except I believe right or wrong is in the mind of the "beholder". If you are in a hand and look at a player and happen to see his cards reflecting in his glasses you should (rightfully in my opinion) continue on in the hand and use the information that you gained. Morally, at the end of the hand you should advise your opponent (loudly and clearly so the whole table can hear) that his cards are sometimes reflected in his glasses. If you do not and you continue to use information gained from seeing his cards reflected in his glasses I believe that it is wrong. My buddy Smoothcall thinks it is cheating if you use the information. He would have posted it himself but he is banned from posting. Oops, so am I?

Thus this Great Question(s): 1) Am I cheating by posting on this forum? 2) (I mean) am I wrong for posting on this Forum?

Ok, so is it wrong?

And a follow-up:
Do you believe that hole-carding - that is, intentionally sitting in a seat so as to try to view the dealer's hole card - in casino blackjack is wrong?

If the answers are different, could you elaborate just a little?

Do you think that Blaise Pascal was a very smart man?
Are you familiar with his religious beliefs(jansenism)?
If your anwser to these questions are yes, do you think that if time travel existed, you would owe him 50,000$?
