Re: Lebron James - Best Player in NFL
Guys who think Wade, Lebron, Kobe could be QB's.
Look at guys like Ronald Curry, Randle El, Hines Ward. |

Re: Lebron James - Best Player in NFL
Having an athletic/smart/extremely mobile QB who is 6'8" 240 could be VERY interesting. Not to say LeBron could play QB, but... it would be awesome if he could.

40 times, height, vert =/ athleticism and coordination. Whether or not LeBron would be really good in the NFL is hard to say. The NFL is far and away the least skill specific of the major sports so I would think it would be possible. To say LeBron would not be good because another person who is tall, fast and you use Matt Jones is ridiculous. Its saying Garrett Wolfe will be Barry Sanders becasue they are both short strong and elusive runners. The "interesting" parallel is awful. [/ QUOTE ] ok, but at least I tried. your stance is that...you have no idea? |

Re: Lebron James - Best Player in NFL
OP here
I am really astonished by some of the responses here. I have no idea how some of you think Lebron is too slow. No one knows his forty time, but given his ridiculous leaping ability I would chop of one of my fingers if it were over 4.6. The other main argument I see here is that many of you think these receivers have all these great route running abilities. Lebron would run routes better than almost everyone. He is one of the top guys at breaking down someone one on one and this would translate perfectly to the NFL. Also, many routes (possibly up to 40 percent) require little or no skills and are basically independent of the DB whether they will be open or not based on defensive scheme. I will go further and say that if you replace all but the top receiver on each team that with those on the practice squad that you would see virtually no decrease in that team's chances of winning (perhaps at most 5 percent). The comparison to Matt Jones is clearly ludicrous. Short receivers exceed well because the average DB height is about 5'10 - 6. Lebron has a 2ft edge on the average DB when jumping. Being a receiver is one of the easiest positions to play in any sport. Many very average atheletes can still make a couple catches a game. The point is that many of you are way overvaluing "receiver" skills and not looking at pure physical and athletic superiority. |

Re: Lebron James - Best Player in NFL
BTW, being a reciever is much more than running routes and catching passes. You have to have the ability to decoy, block, stalk block, carry the ball, ect. Recievers do more than run routes and catch passes. I don't see how you could expect Lebron to step into an NFL offense, understand it immediately, and take over games. Is James going to be contributing to a 150 yard rush day? or is he just trying to catch passes. As much as we rip into TO for dropping balls, the man can block. What about that Tomlinson 90 yard run? did you see that reciever making the block down field? Come on...
