Again, it made no sense financially to play on stars from Jan - early October based on what we all knew at the time regarding legislation.

[/ QUOTE ]

so you realy do want them to reward you for not playing on their site for the first 10 mths of the year.

Many players thought it actually WAS worthwhile to play on Stars all this time. But you didn't want to play there. And now that you changed your mind you want them to make you a supernova just like all the players who have been with them the whole time.

[/ QUOTE ]

I actually have played sporadically on stars, earning over 3K base FPP from January to October (similar to many single tabling weekend warrior fishes).

Also, I don't want them to just GIVE Nova to me. I want to be able to earn it by getting 100K base fpp in any 12 consec months.. Hell, I can even do it in 6 consecutive months.

[/ QUOTE ]

so you've been playing there a little bit all along.
and when they started the promotion you made a concious decision that you didn't really like stars very much and that SN was not something you were interested in.

10 months later you change your mind about the program and because you have changed your mind you think Stars should their rules to make it not so hard for you to get in.

What if I really really wanted to play the platinum freeroll and accrue FPP'S at the Platinum rate in a particular month?
All month long I was pretty sure I didn't care about such stuff.
But at the end of the month I change my mind.
But I only have 5k points and there's no way I can get 5k more points to make platinum with only 7 hours to go.

So I write to Stars and say, "but I didn't know I was going to want platinum until it was too late. It's not fair!!
It's not my fault that I changed my mind about whether I wanted platinum or not. It's your fault for not accomodating players like me who don't bother to earn the 10k points before the last day."

"In the absense of the extra money they shouldn't take away benefits earned as promised by the scheme to give to others."

What was promised and how do you know how much each bonus will be based on how many people are at what level? How do we know they won't just add more $? If you have the stars bonus pattern mapper , plz post it k thx.

I've only cleared bonuses there.

In the situation you describe, I would tell you to write to stars and suggest that they change it from earning 10K fpp's in a calendar month, to earning 10K fpp's in any consecutive 30 days. In your situation there is less importance as you are only set back 1 month, where in mine, it is ~5

Just write Stars and make a case to be given SuperNova status. Rumor has it they used "instant" SuperNova status as incentive to lure high volume high stakes players to their site in the past few months.

Some great posts in this thread. What should Stars do with players that make 99K VPPs for the year? If you think they should be bumped up to Supernova, where do we draw the line and why?

I think this transition period from party-stars qualifies as special circumstances.

I think really high volume players should get an extra month or so to get to supernova. I dont think artifically bumping someone up to supernova without playing all the hands is fair (they wouldn't have to pay as much rake.)

I don't really care either way, i should make supernova well before the end of december.

"Leave it how it is.

That's what you guys get for playing at Party before the ban. I played at Stars all year and am glad I have been rewarded with Nova status."

I agree with this. Most of us gave Stars our action before the ban and we got rewarded. Most of you guys started playing Stars because you were thrown overboard by Party not by choice.

Default UPDATE!!!!!!!!

We've been wrong the WHOLE TIME!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REQUALIFY FOR THE FREEROLLS!!!!!!

Reply to Email I sent to ps:

Hello xxxxxxx,

We will have freerolls in January and you will not need to re-qualify for Supernova. The exact structure is still being decided on.

Thank you for being a VIP on PokerStars.

I am in no way asking to be "bumped" or given instant nova. I am without a doubt willing to earn the base 100K. I would just like a policy of being able to earn those FPP in either 1 calendar year or any 12 consecutive months.

I'd even be willing to only have 6 consecutive months.

Again, while I agree some people have been very loyal and have played all year long, I still think that supernova requirements are a bit excessive. If you played at casino in Vegas not named the Bellagio, and you gave them enough action to generate a $2000 hold (about what PlatinumStar is), you'd be in the top tier of everybody's slot club. Supernova is $10,000 in hold. If you gambled enough to generate $10,000 hold you'd be getting calls from competing casino hosts trying to earn your business and would be getting comped ridiculous suites. I understand that's not a great comparison because you are comparing a few days of action to a long period of time, but the bottom line is, in my opinion, that if you generate 4 figure revenues on a monthly basis for a business, you shouldnt have to wait more than a year to get Supernova status. If you started playing at Stars in October, and generate $2000 a month in rake, you won't be a Supernova for 9 months. People who started earlier get in 5 months. Even if everybody "knew the rules", its punishing the customer. You don't punish a customer for "not being as loyal" as others. If the rules are structured to do that, it doesn't mean the customer should have known or should have been more loyal, it means the business has silly rules.

Should new customers be punished too? Ones that didn't know about the rules and had never heard of Pokerstars/didn't play online poker until October?

Anyways, I'm not really worked up about this, it's just one of the minor things that irritates me about the system, but since it doesn't really affect me, I don't really care that much. Just seems illogical to me. I mean we should all get kudos for making supernova and knowing the structure and reward for doing it, but that doesn't make the structure logical and fair.
