random successful smokers:
60ish year old geology professor that is a leader in his field smokes daily. 4th year PhD student I'm good friends with smokes daily and is the most likely of my friends to continue on in academia. One of the smartest kids I've ever meet is in his first year of a 6 figure consulting job and still smokes nightly. |

[ QUOTE ]
71/29... daam was expecting 95/5. I just assumed everyone smoked weed. [/ QUOTE ] 4:1 in favor of ANYTHING is damn good(a lot closer to 80% when I took it) . You could poll people and ask if they're in favor of motherhood and you probably won't get 90%. I actually think we're higher than the population at large...what that says about poker players, I don't know. Smoked a lot in HS; less so afterwards. One of my favorites was once when I was delivering mail and this fellow yells out the door, "hey mailman, you get high?" He, his brother and I got quite baked--then I was off to finish my route. After switching careers to pilot, I had to give everything up but booze...currently medically disqualified from commercial flying, but since I still fly privately on occasion, I stay away from weed due to the possible repurcussions on my liscence. |

In order to be cool you have to smoke weed at least a few times a week.

[ QUOTE ]
the successful people cant admit to smoking because of the negative connotations. also many successful people are former smokers(ie during college etc) but had to stop because of drug testing etc and just switch to legal means such as booze. the only thing keeping the majority of smokers being burn outs it the fact that its not legal. if someone can do well and they drink please understand they would be doing well also if they smoked. all the assumptions you have about pot are because of the reefer madness push(making people lazy, lack drive, violent etc) and none of that was based on facts, in fact when they did the research to find out if the accusations were true they found they werent and thus stopped the studies. [/ QUOTE ] so true! you know Bush smoked weed amongst other things in college, he turned out ok right?... well he did become president. |

I'd honestly say the only percentile of those who haven't atleast tried pot are the uber geeky online poker nerds who 24-table 15 hrs a day and never see daylight. [/ QUOTE ] kinda funny i thougth these guys would be most likely to smoke. |

I've never smoked.
Probably because all my friends that do are kinda retarded and I avoid doing things with them. Also none of them are successful in life so far. Definitely not saying that weed causes this, just that it fits together in my world. I'd not be adverse to trying it myself. I do think it's pretty funny that everyone who smokes thinks the whole world does it too... |
