LINE WAITING at BEST BUY for PS3

How easy/common is it to pay someone to stand in line for you? I was thinking of getting a poor student type to stabd in line for the 15+ (?) hours and then taking their place right beofre opening, and giving them a cut of the profit from the ebay sale.

Off the top of my head...

1) They may not have $600 to spend (I'm assuming the potential seller would provide the line-waiter with cash before hand)
2) They may not want to "risk" $600 on this deal. I know and you know that they could just return it to the store if they couldn't resell it for some reason, but they might not think of that.
3) They may not have a clue about how to use eBay to resell it.
4) They may not even think of reselling it. They could just think they're waiting in line cuz this dude really wants his PS3.

Wednesday isn't insane. At the best Buy I work at we are planning on people to start tomarrow night. Definetly going to be a line by wednesday afternoon.

I plan to wait in line. I think I will go to one of the stores that have midnight opening. If Thrusday afternoon-Friday night is sufficient to get one, I will do it. Otherwise, I'm not sure I'm up for it.

Any Washington, DC people want to strategize? I plan to bring my laptop. I *hope* to find a location where I can pickup wireless. Playing poker would make the time go by so much faster.

What do people think about holding them till the next weekend?

Either way it doesn't matter, I would say not even half of the people waiting for thema are planning on re-sale. I figure that there will be thousands on there the first weekend. Some people are waiting a week or two but I think it won't matter to much.

Im up to wait in line with a couple of my friends but anytime before late thursday afternoon is pushing it.

Best Buy is going to permit people to wait in line for two days? They won't consider that loitering?

I think I got a little bit on insider information. I go to the U of M, BestBuy HQ is located in the Twin Cities. This is all just he said she said, but a kid I go to school with was told by his friend whose uncle is an exec at Besy Buy that each store is going to get 20 of each bundle. I don't know what the geographical limitations of this are, but that's what I heard. Also, I know the guy I heard it from wouldn't make it up, but again, it's bigtime hear-say.
