Re: TCU OWNS the Big 12...
[ QUOTE ]
LOL you get handled by a not even that great Texas team, and you are talking BCS. Keep dreaming. [/ QUOTE ] First of all, we'll see how good Texas winds up being. I figure them to finish second in the Big 12 to OU this season...but as of now they're sixth in the country, so I'm gonna call them a good team until we find out otherwise. Secondly...I get that you have an intense hatred for TCU (or maybe just for me because I like to talk about and be proud of the guys working hard to represent the school I went to). But you do seem to like tearing down houses with no facts. Tell me how my analysis is wrong. I said IF they win out now that they lost to Texas, that puts them at 11-1. They're 30th in the AP poll right now. Ten more games and 13 more weeks is a LONG time to go. If they bump themselves up to 12 or better (not totally out of the realm of possibility) in the BCS, they qualify automatically unless there's a higher-ranked non-BCS school. If they're 13-16 and the highest-ranked non-BCS school, they qualify if they finish higher than one of the BCS conference champions (like if a Big 12 North champ or tarnished SEC division champ were to pop up and win their conference title game)...or if the ACC is as middling as we might suspect...or if the Big East's top three beat each other up like last year. So...you can say keep dreaming...and I did admit it was an outside chance. But it's not absurd by any means. Several college football writers talked about the two big "ifs" of this year's TCU season. IF they could beat Texas and go undefeated, could they become the first non-BCS team to go to the BCS title game? And if they didn't beat Texas but went 11-1, could they become the first non-BCS team to get into the BCS with one loss, given that their loss came on the road to a team better than any Utah or Boise played during their BCS runs? I guess we'll see. But, as usual, thanks for your meaningful reply. |

Re: TCU OWNS the Big 12...
Air Force? Wow, if you can't beat Texas (this year) you don't deserve a BCS game but if you don't beat Air Force you don't deserve a legit bowl game--anything after presents are handed out after Christmas at the very latest.
I was actually hoping TCU would lose b/c the more and more I listen to Patterson the more and more I can't stand him. I was listening to him the other day and he was asked about how his team would bounce back from the loss to Texas and the short week to get ready and his response was that Air Force has a short week as well and their opponent has the disadvantage being in the academy while their kids main focus is football or some nonsense. The entire time he was talking he came off like a pretentious jerk once again like he does in every interview. I like the way he teaches his team to play--they knock people around and are tough as hell--but he is getting old. |
