miles vs ILP cliff notes:

miles: I'm right, you're wrong
ILP: I'm obviously right, but don't have time to tell you why
miles: no you're wrong obviously
ILP: of course not, I'm never wrong. Therefore, you're wrong
miles: wrong!

[/ QUOTE ]

I have it all figured out now

Hip >>>>> Miles + ILP

That is all.

i def. don't want to get too deep into this thread. as a disclaimer, i have not read the original thread, nor many of the responses in this thead. i am only here due to my brother dcwildcat's request.

i think that the only way raising the flop is correct is if you're willing to call a 3-bet and fold on the turn.

i think that a passive line is best.

I go out of town for one day and look what I miss!!!

FWIW, I raise flop. Failure to do that I raise turn. ILP knows I wouldn't agree with him here.

I'm not going to explain my thoughts because in keeping with the theme of this thread, I'm too good to have to explain anything. I'd rather just sit here and eat my popcorn and enjoy the rants.

Cheers,

Caddy

Villain bets...

Sorry ILP, this time you are way off bat. Mossberg agrees with you only because he is results orientated and lost the hand. True

Could you provide the link to the thread you are referring to?

OT, but has anyone else read these articles? They sound interesting but I don't know if they are worth $30.

others aren't chiming in because this is all fairly obvious to them. they all know that calling down is not the best, they just don't get annoyed like me when other people can't grasp the obvious.

[/ QUOTE ]

or they get so annoyed they dont even want to respond. oh well I'm over it.

there are a TON of players in the PP 5/10 right now that know that tags can't resist raising/calling down with strong hands and will donk mosters here tons. that is definitely true. but there are more players in that game that play awful, wont fold any piece even if they pick it up on the river, and to insist that raising anywhere postflop in this type of hand is bad poker is bad posting.

ILP I agree with someone else, you are a good poster and I'm sure you're a good player but you use the passive line as a crutch. poker cant be played using some formula and you must take entire ranges and player tendencies into account. against many players in a hand like this we are getting the best of it when .5-3.5 big bets go in post flop, but against many we can earn more by trying to get more bets than that to go in.

oh, and please stop acting like such a tool in your posts.

I've read them, and think they're great - I still suck at poker though

BTW the articles on passive play deals mostly with playing against aggressive players, not passive ones.
