Great post, inspiring.

I may have missed this or you didn't say, approx. how many tables were/are you playing then and as you moved up in levels to the present?

Who says you need to be in a party enviorment to drink excessively? I think you should reconsider the amount of time you spend drinking beers by the pool...You can wake up at noon, get thrashed by 5ish, sleep for three hours, eat something, play poker for 9-2, and then do it again the next day...pussy

Sounds like a solid plan. I'm sick of all of the "should I quit college posts" on here.

GL!

Later in that night i played in a 100-200 game where i didn't play too well or run well. I did have a funny hand against the old PP Million champ Michael Gratz though.

He open raises UTG, i 3 bet AA from the SB, he calls. The flop is Kt7 two clubs, i bet he raises, i 3 bet, he calls, Turn K, i check call. River is an offsuit Ace. I c/r, he three bets, i 4 bet, he fives bets... In this situation, my hand is so obvious, 5 betting without KK would be pretty dumb. So i called he he rolled KT. Sigh, shoot me, how do i not win in that game?

Maybe it's late and I'm just tired. but this doesn't make sense to me. what am I missing?

The river 5 bet here is quite terrible. I mean, look at the action and my possible hands. I don't have AK, because i don't play the turn that way. In fact, i don't have any King or full house with that turn action. EVER. Now the river is an Ace, and i c/r. Well what hands does that help? I either am bluffing (basically never), or i have QJ or AA. Also keep in mind, i am not 3 betting the flop and then checking the turn with QJ, he should know that.

Even assuming that i do so that some % of the time (which i don't) when i 4 bet the river, i never have less than a boat here. I'm not exaggerating when i say i think folding is probably better than 5 betting here, it's just a massive spew...
