Re: Best Cover Songs
Wyclef does a pretty good cover of "No Woman, No Cry." It is just a little bit more upbeat than Bob's, and I think it works pretty nicely.

Re: Best Cover Songs
Train Kept A Rollin'-The Yardbirds or Aerosmith both have smoking versions of this song. I'm pretty sure someone else wrote it. Yes, Tiny Bradshaw wrote it, although I think inspiration came from the Johnny Burnette Trio.
Also, The Yardbirds have a great version of 'Smokestack Lightning', which I believe was written or performed by Howlin' Wolf. |

Re: Best Cover Songs
Jimi Hendrix version of "All along the Watchtower" is better than Dylan's (as is the version Hendrix and BB King played of "Like a Rolling Stone").
Jose Gonzalez song "Heartbeats" (from the Sony Bravia commercial) is a cover of a swedish band called the Knife. What else...I like Pearl Jam's version of "Crazy Mary" a lot. |

Children of Bodom - Rebel Yell > Billy Idol original
But I prefer metal...so that's probably swaying my decision. |

This thread should end here. Jerry C - Canon Rock [/ QUOTE ] But it won't, because electric guitar + some shredder + classical music = crap. |
