[ QUOTE ] If they want to make it more educational, they should also add a credit card that charges 20% interest and leads to foreclosures on those little green houses. [/ QUOTE ] And each player has to regsiter his cell # with "monopoly central", and when you have mortgaged x amount of properties you get a call from an abrasive debt collector and he berates you til you cry. You could also have an add-on feature where a hairy-chested Italian guy named Guido comes to your house and breaks your kneecap. [/ QUOTE ] Also, as soon as you take out a mortgage, you get [censored] spam phone calls every [censored] 5 minutes for the next 10 years from every jackass under the sun... hold on, my phone's ringing... wanting you to refinance. |

George Bush took everyone's monopoly money to pay off our $10 trillion debt!!! It makes so much sense. [/ QUOTE ] nah..he would've used a credit card, so future generations could deal with it.. |

my great grand uncle (or something similar) created monopoly and sold it to the parker bros. his name is charles something, some of the older boards used to mention him in the instructions. understandably I am a monopoly tradionalist and I hate this change. [/ QUOTE ] darrow, although I don't believe you now I wanna play with curtains rules, sounds like fun |

My main problem with the original rules is that you can't actually make trades with other players. You have to sell the properties for cash only. Every time I've ever tried to play by this rule no one sells anything and the game goes on forever. If you are playing by the actual rules then I don't see how you could stand playing since the property trading aspect is probably the most fun part about the game.

next you're going to tell me that they replaced the wheel in the game of Life with dice or something.
The best part about that game was taking the wheel off, covering everything in Pam spray and then watching as every wheel spin goes around for like 30 seconds. |

Nothing explicity forbids this in the rules, probably because trading could simply be replaced with 2 people selling property to each other for the same dollar amount. "I'll sell you Boardwalk for $1500 if you sell me North Carolina for $1500" |
