Default MNF: Raven @ Broncos

I noticed at mansion this game has the Ravens at +6 with the o/u being at 33.5. With an o/u line being so low, dont you think a spread that far apart is much more difficult for the broncos to cover? I think the game is going to be really good but I like the Ravens chances of winning outright, and at the very least covering the spread.

Thoughts?

I like the Ravens winning as well, or at least enough to get me to play those odds. Yesterday put 3 units on Balt SU at +200. It's now up to +241 on Pinney and I put 3 more units. Odds are just too good IMO. Denver is still one of the most difficult places to win, but we're not talking about a team as talented as prior Denver squads. Maybe I missed something, but I can't see why the odds are the high.

Did anything happen for the line to move a couple points this early? I know it’s been moving slowly all week but its sure shot quickly up today.

Aside from possible snow for the game, I do not know what may have changed. The obvious is that Denver is getting more action.

This might have something to do with the line moving.

I also have a couple units on Bal at 2-1, and may add a few more if the odds have improved. I don't think a QB as shaky as Plummer should ever have that kind of odds against a healthy D as good as Bal. That said, I have zero confidence in Steve McNair.

edit: heh, that article definitely doesn't make me confident. I'm curious to hear what others have to say

Eh it sure looks not like that is the reason now but was not convinced earlier that was the reason. I was looking all over for injury or suspension news. How often does the Monday night game jump 2 full points at the start of the 1PM Sunday games. I would think its anything but obvious at the time of the OP. it sure through up reason for caution for me.

I'm just gonna let my man Bill Simmons explains this to you guys,

[ QUOTE ]
BRONCOS (-4) over Ravens
Four predictions for this one:

1. Air McNair gets fully exposed. He has played four decent minutes in
the past two weeks. You can't pull that crap against a defense like
Denver's.

2. Once the Broncos get a lead, Shanahan won't ask Plummer to do
anything. And I mean, ANYTHING. He'll do the same thing Marty did last week.

3. You will hear a lot of barely audible "IN-COM-PLETE" chants on your
TV.

4. Mike Tirico officially starts to look like one of the kids from "The
Squid and the Whale."
