I did one on one tutoring for Kaplan back in the day.
There really isn't a cure for being dumb, but you can boost SAT scores by 50 points just by teaching the kids to curb their worst test taking impulses. I remember one kid who got an 850 and I tutored him to a 920 on the SAT. I am not sure quite what the point of that was. I seriously doubt it moved him into contention for an Ivy League school. |

Also, since it's GMAT you might want to think through how you open the show.
Don't want to make some blantant econ errors (I doubt you would, just making sure) |

i would prolly be tutoring/teaching SAT and hs/college subjects as well
and you can seriously raise scores by teaching people how to test well...for instance, there are only 7 types of mistakes they look for in the grammar sections of these tests...learn those and how to spot them and you will ace that section |

Oh yeah I'm not doubting the effectiveness of it I'm just amused that some people haven't figured that stuff out by the time they are taking the GMAT.

Ivy League schools use standardized tests?
Or is it just an initial filter? I always assumed they invite you and test you on various topics for a couple of days. |

they have to do something as some schools grade much easier than others
so they need something standard to evaluate people by that said, i'm sure there are better ways to test than how we currently do it |

IQ tests scores can def be improved by practicing
I've done some tests with average intelligence people (scored 100 or below) and could all bring them to 120+ First I thought it's a clear sign that IQ tests don't measure IQ correctly but on second thought it's probably clever to practice :P |
