I'm more entertained by straight up talent than I am by smack talk, witty banter, etc. That said, there are a few in here that I love to hear yakking away, most notably Mike Caro.

Phil Ivey - nearly superhuman

Ted Forrest - gutsiest player I can think of

Mike Caro - pretty nutty, but a master of psychological warfare, as evidenced by his performance on "WPT - Poker By the Book"

Gus Hansen - someone has to hit those low flops

Greg Raymer - incredible insticts and tournament strategy

Daniel Negreanu - loose and talkative, impressive postflop action

Johnny Chan - charismatic and friendly, yet intimidating

Chip Reese - way too little TV exposure for this guy. I've seen him make some amazing laydowns AND calls.

Howard Lederer - okay, not terribly entertaining, but his composure and thoughtfullness have impressed me for years

Paul Phillips - undeniably a very smart guy with a talent for the game. a little cocky, but razor-sharp wit and great poker instincts

I realize Brenes, Hellmuth, Matusow, Tony G, et al are entertaining, but they seem like camera whores, so screw em.

Phillips isn't even close to being among the best players based on talent.

I will concede I gave a little more weight to entertainment over talent with Paul there. Dan Harrington, Chris Ferguson, Barry Greenstein would all be suitable choices, but they just aren't that compelling to watch.

Screw the final table.... I want to see a NLHE Heads Up match between Matusow and Hellmuth.
