Forgetting the specifics of this hand for a moment Dave, you don't think QQ or TT 3-bets preflop ever from the sb? [/ QUOTE ] Of course they do. But then they usually 3-bet the flop or C/R the turn. Especially from a guy this aggressive. I suspect he seriously feared QQ, and would make sense based on heros play, which is why I said he most likely has AKss or TT. Or he though he was being tricky, but, I doubt it. EDIT: I should clarify my logic has been based on hands hero loses too. In general, I would never put him on a set here. If I truly had no idea whether he won or lost, I would say no way this is anything but badly played AA/KK making a last ditched effort. |

Okay, this is an embarassing question, but why do you guys say villain played this hand so terribly? Is it because he didn't checkraise all in on the turn?
Or are you criticizing the fact that he didn't 3-bet the flop since he's OOP on a draw heavy board and his opponent could take a free card on the turn? His preflop play seems fine as well as his initial flop bet, and I think the flop flat call is reasonable. He should have just pushed the turn, but failing that I think pushing the river is a good play. |

Sorry it is off topic but something is annoying the [censored] out of me.
True: you do not need to put your name at the bottom of every single post you make, it is there in bold blue letters at the left of every post the same as everyone else. It is annoying as [censored] to scroll through a thread seeing "blah blah -True" "blah blah blah -True" as every 2nd reply. I know I am not the only one here... |

[/ QUOTE ] preflop is of course fine, but the villain butchered the living [censored] out of this hand on both the flop and the turn. the board is very drawy on the flop, and about as drawy as possible on the turn. slowplaying is absolutely brutal on both streets. by slowplaying, the villain both fails to protect his hand from a flush draw and also risks losing action if hero is scared by the arrival of the third flush card. villain must raise for ftop reasons.
