I saw Gojira live last month with Lamb of God and they are real bad ass.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. I went to that tour as well. They played in Grand Rapids on St. Pat's day. Gojira's MySpace said they went on at 8:00. So we get there right around 8:00 and they've already played and Machine Head had just started playing.

I was pretty disappointed because I haven't gotten to see them yet and have listened to them for a few years now. Hopefully them being from France wont completely restrict them from touring now that they get Video play on The Ball.

a lot of the bands in you "heavy(lol) metal" list really suck.

If you want to get your socks rocked the [censored] off, i suggest the following (separated in two categories)...

Light Heavy:

Alice in Chains
Tool
Faith No More
Porcupine Tree
Opeth
Mr. Bungle
Jerry Cantrell

Heavy Heavy:

Dillinger Escape Plan (i personally like the album they did with Mike Patton the best)
Meshuggah
Dying Fetus
Fantomas

edit: Pantera, Early Metallica, and Ministry(industrial, i know) can be thrown in this mix somewhere.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't categorize Porcupine Tree as even soft metal, but yeah they own. I was going to say Opeth but you beat me to it. Also, will you marry me?

Ive listened to a lot of metal when I was younger. I still like it but listen to much more rock and totally other stuff. One of my all-time-favs is Legion of the Damned. They are SO [censored] GOOD ULL HEADBANG TILL YOUR HEAD ASPLODES. Seriously, anyone hwo likes trash or death metal some kind of will love them.

Not enough love for Immortal in this thread. Sons of Northern Darkness is sooooooo good.

any metal thread with no mention of dark tranquility, agalloch, (much) opeth or sentenced is not a metal thread. oh yes, and tool != metal.

however, props to the rammstein fans
