I'd add the grossest thing i've ever had was tibetan tea, a gross salty mix of yak milk/butter, rice and god knows what. It was foul.
I drank the whole glass though. |

I remember hearing about this many times, and always thinking I would have a hard time choking it down. Really foul.
Oh well, not as foul as that liquor they make in some South American tribes by having their women chew some leaf or root or whatever and then spit into a big trough, then letting the spit ferment. I mean, WTF, people! |

Being half Iranian, whenever I'm home I frequently eat numerous dishes the non-Persian masses would have never heard of.

There was a fun story about germ-phobic Klaus Kinski being offered it when filming Fitzcarraldo. The native Indians involved in the movie had already offered to kill him for director Werner Herzog, who politely declined. Kinski couldn't do it. I think if I was worried someone would kill me for refusing the hospitality of their fermented spit, the decision to drink would still take a long time. |

Ex-girlfriend's dad of mine used to eat peanut butter, mayonnaise, and pickle relish sandwiches. I think it was his own creation, and he originally used the mayo to prevent the relish from soaking through the bread or something like that. Or maybe it was the peanut butter. Anyway, she said she had had one and it was pretty good.
I didn't believe her. |
