Re: bodog is such a joke (with a screen shot)
i understand everyone's frustration with OP, but I really don't think he would have gotten away with much here. 1.3m doesn't just disappear; they prob would have found it within the hour

Re: bodog is such a joke (with a screen shot)
If a site is so lax they can just accidentally give somebody 1.3M then I'm guessing their cashout procedure might not be so great either (so long as you keep the amounts sensible...).
Also, this is just "electronic" money and if they didn't have systems in place to see the 1.3M anomaly as it hit your account, then their is a pretty good chance it might never get detected (for all you know it might have just been created/duped and not be missing from any other electronic sum... computers DO make errors!!!). First you could have just sat on the amount and not done anything for a few weeks to see if anybody noticed. Then you could have cashed out your own 1k first to see what happens. If nobody notices then I'd keep on trying to cash another 1k each week or so (whatever amount is unlikely to get flagged for a real human to audit it...). If after some time you find that it still hasn't been noticed, then you could consider chip dumping (in sensible amounts) to try to get it out a bit quicker. I think your odds of getting away with at least some of it would have been quite alot better than you think and I don't think many people will be crying over Calvin Ayre losing the cost of few fuelings for his private jet... Re: bodog is such a joke (with a screen shot)
I'm surprised at how many poker players here advocate cheating, in any form.
I've always maintained that most people are honest if given the chance. So...what would you do to obtain a million dollars? A thousand? Fifty? To those of you who claimed you would have lied/cheated/stolen (and brought a friend in on your scheme), Where is your moral line drawn, and, what about the friend you were gonna bring in, if he/she is a thief also, then, you might want to watch your $$, gf's, and other valuables around them. If they are not naturally a theif, then you have just compounded you culpability by corrupting an otherwise good person. Oh, and stealing from someone because they can afford it? Uhm...honestly, if that's how you think, then, nothing anyone can say will get through to you (until someone does it to YOU). OP did what was right. End of story. |

So that's where my last month's rakeback went. Thanks for finding it, now I can afford to feed my family again.

I don't understand the moral issue here. It was their mistake, they will have to deal with the repercussions.

[/ QUOTE ] I remember a while back somebody trying to exploit a bug on WSEX that let them get rake-back for tournaments they had joined then unjoined. I think ripping off a not-for-profit site is pretty much the lowest of the low, but when it comes to a profit making organization like BODOG then I'd be quite glad they got ripped off (even if it wasn't me benefiting from the money). They should either spend some of their huge profits on protecting themselves from this or suffer the consequences. The day they spend every cent of their profit is the day I'll say I'd be sad to see them get ripped off. Juk |
