if the Red Sox play the Dbacks in the WS, my guess is that 30% of the people in Arizona will be Sox fans.

[/ QUOTE ]

If BOS played the Rockies in the WS what % do you think will be BOS fans? I would imagine it would be less than would be in Arizona, but I don't know by how much.

I used to really like Colin but he has made some really dumb statements lately.

Before the SD/COL playoff game he went on a long rant about how unfair this was to Peavy because he wouldn't be able to pitch game one of the NLDS. How the Pads were getting jobbed by the playoff game and how a tiebreak would be much more fair to SD. Except that the Rockies would have any conventional tiebreak so Peavy wouldn't be able to pitch at all if they broke the tie. Was really absurd.

[/ QUOTE ]

wow why the [censored] would anyone prefer a tiebreaker over settling it on the field

Probably less. There are a lot of Cubs and Cardinals fans here, going back to when there were no Rockies, and also a lot of fans of Califonia teams because of the influx of Californians in the '90s (heavy on Dodgers fans).

prodickblower,

Meh, you know I just like giving you crap, but I'll give you props for bringing some facts to the table.

PHB does not deserve props this week. He is a very evil man, just for those wondering.

20 year old wunderkind Omobi Okoye is gonna sack that QB of yours SO HARD! My prediction: Texans 97, Jaguars NFL Contraction.

I'd guess 10%. Mountains are scary, and less New England retirees living their.

give me a break. the red sox obv have a larger fan base, but the red sox has plenty of bandwagoneers fans in '04

edit: far more than the rockies will have b/c no one really cares about them. in 04 everyone was rooting for the poor sox to finally overcome the ghosts of the past.

Right side of the brain: "Ooh, desertcat started a thread. What retardation is he going to spew this time? I'm excited!"

Left side of the brain: "DON'T DO IT. IT'S A TARP. STAY AWAY!"

Right side wins.

The Rockies couldn't draw more than 20,000 fans all season without the Yankees, Red Sox, free t shirt night or a "special fireworks" show.*

[/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, they drew over 20,000 in 74 of 82 home games, and they didn't even play Boston in Coors....Cowherd was a bit off with that statistic.
