Re: My friend Scott
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] His roomates are having a gathering at their house and quite frankly I am scared shitless that once I get there I will break down and cry. [/ QUOTE ] Absolutely nothing wrong with this. You should go, I think you'll be glad you did. [/ QUOTE ] More to the point, if you don't go you'll really regret it. These things are not just for you to say goodbye, they're for the people left behind to support each other, and it sounds like you need a bit of that. I've had to go to two of these so far and I cried at both. It's hard as hell but strangely enough it helps a lot as well. It'll be an emotional day though, there's no getting around that. |

Re: My friend Scott
TSC, I don't see what the big deal is about crying. It's cathartic and it would be dumb to repress it.
SC, you should loan TSC your Melissa avatar until he feels better. |

Re: My friend Scott

TSC, I don't see what the big deal is about crying. [/ QUOTE ] I agree with you, but I also see where he's coming from. As young men, we're conditioned not to show our emotions, particularly by crying. If he's not used to it, he's not going to be comfortable with it. It's definitely a weird paradox. Crying is so often associated with being young -- babies cry -- but it's not until we're adults that we realize that crying is okay. -McGee |

Re: My friend Scott
I am the type of person who generally sorts out my problems by myself. I've always been that way. I don't generally exude sadness or despair when I feel it. The only emotions I generally show are happiness and annoyance.
its pathetic really, but I am scared to exude the emotions. Not because I don't want people to see it, but because I don't want to feel it. |
