Smashing Pumpkins - 1979

This is the worst song on the album. I don't understand how it got so big and why people liked it so much. It is horrible.

R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts

Another song that is the worst song on the album, yet was HUGE and got ridiculous amounts of radio play. Off the album Automatic for the People. The rest of the album, brilliant; this song, horrendous. So obnoxiously whiny. God, I hear this song and it makes me want to shoot Michael Stipe in the [censored] face.

That Smashing Pumpkins song is great. Most people liked it becuase it was a good song. The problem is you, not the song.

I would like to add any aongs from bands like Fall Out Boy, or Panic at the Disco. I don't refer to their work as "music."

It must be, because I seem to be the only one who can't stand this song. It's not a Smashing Pumpkins thing either because I have no problem with the rest of their music (well, I sorta stopped listening after Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, so I speak only of the albums released previous to that).

Beastie Boys really annoy me too.

Although their DVD that they made by handing out cameras to like 100 fans in attendance to one of their shows was really awesome.

any Eminem song- What got to me the most was the fact that they were playing his songs on some rock stations... wtf? He maybe didn't start the whole wigger movement, but certainly helped it's progression.. puke.

Okay, I'm genuinely curious: when did you start listening to music?

I started listening to music in probably 1994.

I didn't develop intense hatred for some of America's most popular bands until later in life. In fact I think the very first mp3 I ever downloaded was the Beastie Boys song intergalactic back in 1998 or 1999.

Even tho I hate on a lot of popular bands, I think I generally have one of the most diverse music tastes of anyone I know.

For example I regularly listen to classic rock, rock, indie rock, hip-hop, rap, trance, house, jazz and sometimes classical.

I also can appreciate them all for what they are.

Part of why I might hate certain bands is that I very rarely ever listen to the actual lyrics and instead turn the vocals into an instrument of their own. So if the sound of the vocals disagree with my musical tastes, I generally hate the band.
